There’s a reason so many beauty icons are French women. They just seem to naturally ooze polish and poise. So how about taking a cue from the most iconic French beauties and stealing these easy beauty tricks?
1. Brigitte Bardot’s nude lips and lined eyes
Use a black kohl eyeliner to rim your peepers all along your lash line. Tone down the rest of your makeup and keep your complexion clean - just a nude pink lippie to balance out those sooty dark eyes will do.
2. Ines Sastre’s bold, elegant arched brows
K-beauty’s trending straight, full brows are all well and good, but to really boost your elegance ante, nothing works like a refined set of arches. Shape your brows into elegant bows (but don’t overpluck them) and fill in with a brow pencil.
3. Audrey Tautou’s red lips
This must be the oldest (and most effective) trick in the French beauty book. Need to glam up quick? Just add red lipstick and make it the most pigmented, intense red shade you can find.
4. Laetitia Casta’s bombshell waves
Got long dishevelled hair? Pull it up into a chignon to give it some casual texture. Then let it down and spritz on a light-hold hairspray to hold the curls. Finally, flip it insouciantly to one side, over your shoulder.
