Touted as a “flash eye awakener”, a first from the brand, this gel-in-balm textured treat reportedly de-puffs, cools tired eyes, lightens dark eye circles and blurs imperfections around the eye area — all at once. It also contains extremely hydrating ingredients such as mannose and sea plankton, which can be found in the brand’s existing Aquasource range as well.
For the amount of hydration this gives, it has a surprisingly lightweight texture. It picks up as a balm but goes onto the skin as a watery gel, and I like that it's absorbed by skin instantly and hydrates it, so I don’t have to wait around to apply my eye makeup (that went on smoothly with no pilling, might I add).
Another big plus for me was the long-lasting cooling sensation that instantly refreshed my tired eye area. I found that the cooling effect also helped with de-puffing — great if you’ve had a late night crying over a K-drama. Less than five minutes after applying the gel, I looked more awake and as if I had had two more hours of sleep that I actually did. After using this for two weeks, my mild dark circles were also less visible.
I would have preferred it if this dispensed from a pump bottle, compared to the tub it comes in. Yes, you can always use a spatula, but when I’m in a rush or feeling lazy, I tend to just use my fingers and gel always gets under my nails, which I find rather unpleasant.
